What is a herb, anyway? In a botanical sense, it is a plant that does not develop persistent woody stems. But, this would leave out Rosemary and Thyme, to mention only two. Herbs could be thought of as plants used for seasoning, for medicinal purposes, or for other household or industrial uses.
