A Tulsa County Master Gardener Community Beautification Project
In an effort to promote Tulsa community beautification, the OSU Tulsa County Master
Gardeners launched a project to motivate Tulsa businesses and residents to add colorful
flowers to their landscapes.
The Tulsa Blooms! program consists of two efforts:
First, encouraging business owners to place containers of eye-catching flowers and plants
outside their business and,
Secondly, recognizing exceptional flower displays at Tulsa County residences.
The first business project was a planting at KJRH Channel 2 , at 37th Street and South Peoria Avenue. Master Gardeners planted flowers in 12 large containers donated by Southwood Landscape and Nursery. These were placed at KJRH on Thursday morning, June 10th. This visual impact should inspire other Tulsa area businesses to follow suite with similar plantings.
The second phase also began in June and focuses on Tulsa's residential areas. Master Gardeners are
searching for yards with appealing colorful flowering plants.
In appreciation for inspiring the community, Master Gardeners will select residents to be
recognized with congratulatory
WOW! TULSA BLOOMS! tag hung on their doors.
