Rose Campion

Rose Campion

Lychnis coronaria

Rose Campion has silvery-green leaves and stems with hot pink blooms and reaches heights of 2-3 feet when mature. This plant is very drought tolerant which is perfect for Oklahoma although it is a short-lived hardy perennial in zones 4-8, it can reseed itself. During the first year of planting the plant will not have blooms, but by the second year, there will be a profusion of beautiful pink flowers. To get the most color out of Rose Campion, encourage new blooms by deadheading.  To encourage reseeding, leave some flowerheads on the plant as the blooms start to wane.
