Scarecrow Contest
We invite you to participate in our Scarecrow Contest at the Tulsa Master Gardener (TMG) Booth in the Tulsa Home & Outdoor Market Show. Let your imagination run wild and be eligible to win some great prizes. Please read the following rules before completing your entry. This is a public invitation and anyone can enter!
Show Dates: Friday August 27 & Saturday 28th from 10:00 AM to 8:00PM.
Sunday August 29th from 11:00AM to 5:00PM.
Entry Form Submission Deadline: Friday August 20th at 5:00PM. Entries are online only at tulsamastergardeners.org. Questions can be answered at scarecrow@tulsamastergardeners.org.
Contest Setup Date: Thursday August 26th from 12:00 Noon to 6:00PM.
Contest Removal Date: Sunday August 29th from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
Location: River Spirit Expo at Expo Square, Tulsa Fairgrounds, Upper Level
Prizes and Recognition: 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, 4th Place and 5th Place will receive ribbons and a redemable gift certificate.

3rd $150 Master Gardener Plant Sale Gift Certificate + Plaque

Judging: Entries will be judged/voted on by the visiting public at the show. Voting will take place during show hours on Friday and Saturday. Votes will be tallied and results posted at the open of Sunday's show. Winners will be contacted by phone or email. All judging/voting results will be final.
Scarecrow Rules and Design: Being our inaugural year, we are only accepting the first 30 scarecrow entries we receive. There is no entry fee. Your entry acceptance will be confirmed with a return email and is your promise to deliver a completed a scarecrow for this contest.
The Scarecrow Contest is a family friendly event. Scarecrows should be whimsical, humorous, mischievous or loveable-NOT frightening. Gruesome, bloody or especially scary entries will not be accepted. Scarecrows must be in good taste and not reflect controversial/social/ or political situations. Tulsa Master Gardener's reserves the right to disqualify entries they feel are not acceptable or NOT family friendly.
Design of the Scarecrow must be self-supporting/free standing. Maximum height of 10 feet with a maximum area of floor space of 5 'x 5'. All decorations and props must be firmly attached.
Scarecrow Set up and Removal: Scarecrow set up will be Thursday August 26th from 12:00 Noon to 6:00PM with TMG volunteers on site to direct you to your scarecrow's location. Participants are responsible for supplying all materials and labor needed to complete the installation and setup of their Scarecrow. Participants will be responsible for the complete removal of the Scarecrow and related materials at the end of the show on Sunday August 29th at 6:00PM. After 8:00PM on Sunday August 29th, TMG's will have the right to dispose of leftover Scarecrows at our discretion.
Restrictions: It is understood that Tulsa Master Gardener's may use photographs of, stories about and the actual scarecrow entries themselves as well as non-personal information contained on the entry from for publicity and promotion of the event. We will not use personal contact details submitted though the entry form except to contact entrants with details about the contest and to follow up with prize winners.

I authorize the release of photos taken of the Scarecrow to the Tulsa Master Gardeners and the Tulsa Home Builders Association to use on their website, scrapbook, print advertising or other media.
I have read and understand the rules and regulations, and I agree to participate in the Scarecrow Contest. I understand the required dates and times for the Scarecrow to be setup, on display and to be removed.
In participation with the Scarecrow Contest, I do hereby understand and assume all risks and responsibilities for myself and my team when installing and removing the Scarecrow. Tulsa Master Gardener's, Tulsa Home Builders Assoc. and Tulsa Fairgrounds their officers, agents and employees are not responsible for any damages made to my Scarecrow or props.
Furthermore, I agree to and will at all times, indemnify, save and hold harmless Tulsa Master Gardener's, Tulsa Home Builders Assoc. and Tulsa Fairgrounds their officers, agents and employees from all liability, claims, demands and cost of every kind and nature,, including attorney's fees at trial or appellate levels and all court costs arising out of injury to, or death of persons and damage to any and all property including loss thereof, resulting from or in a manner arising out of or in connection with activities or use of the county facilities during the Scarecrow Contest.
