Hands On Activity
Take a dry lima bean and soak it in water overnight. Notice how it gets bigger and more wrinkled. The next day peel off the seed coat and gently open up the two halves of endosperm (food for the baby plant). Look for the embryo (baby plant) with its leaves and root.
