Tulsa Blooms

To promote Tulsa community beautification, the Tulsa County Master Gardeners launched the Tulsa Blooms! program in 2010 as an effort to motivate Tulsa businesses and residents to add colorful flowers and plants to their landscapes.

The program consists of two goals:

First:  Encourage business owners to place containers of eye-catching flowers and plants outside their business and,

Second:  Recognize exceptional flower and plant displays at Tulsa County residences.

The Brookside area was chosen to begin our visual container project.  By the fall of 2013 the number of Tulsa Blooms! containers along Peoria Avenue grew to 90!

Spring planting features pink Bubblegum Supertunias and fall planting color is provided by orange and yellow panolas.

Each spring and summer, Master Gardeners search for yards across the metropolitan area with appealing plants and design. To recognize a homeowners’ outstanding gardening efforts, a congratulatory WOW!  TULSA BLOOMS! tag is hung on their front doors.

We are very gratified by the enthusiastic response received from our participating Brookside Merchants and look forward to the continuing growth and success of our Beautification Program.
